It took over 1 1/2 hours to get to Johns Creek area this morning. Kokanee slayer has never been there and you could barely see the boats at the marina from the launch it was so foggy. He stared through the window and at the gps until we finally got there around 9:30am. We found some fish jumping and tried to anchor but the anchors wouldn’t hold so we drifted slower than our bobbers and anchovies. We couldn’t get any of the fish to take the bait. I even tried a couple jigs of different colors under the bobber. When the tide changed we moved to the area that was had been successfully outstanding. There were a few jumping and a couple fining. We may have gotten 3 bites the whole day. It was not like when I was out here 6 days previous. After 2pm there were more people on shore fishing. I saw 1 fish caught there. We packed and left the area at 3:45pm for a more pleasant short trip back to the launch. The tides were: High 6:47 AM at 13.9 Low 12:43 PM at 6.2 High 4:59 PM at 13.2. One thing I did notice is that the current was not as fast as it was on Nov. 4th and that day the tide was Low 8:28 AM at 2.4 High 3:02 PM at 14.0.

ouch. That's the John's Creek experience I'm used to. Fish but no biters. Sorry for the tough outing. Do you think the tides were an issue? You had reverse flow - tide out instead of tide in.

We were there long enough for the incoming if it was going to be the same. There were definitely less fish showing themselves. We talked with one person at the launch and he got 1 chum. It was his experience that they were barely mouthing the bait. I had little bites that I thought were bullheads or flounders. Maybe they were chum. The salmon have to go and spawn and there were dead fish floating by.

Toni,
Although we didn't catch fish, I got to explore a new area of the Puget Sound and gain some more experience navigating by GPS. LOL Once the fog cleared, it turned out to be a great day. We will do better next time.
