Just back from 3 days fishing the straits. Came home with 9 coho mostly wild. There were lots of shakers to get thru but we did manage to stay off pinks for the most part. The coho average about 7 lbs. did get one double digits, and of course lost the big one, it took line zip back and forth 50' behind the boat 3rd pass broke the leader. Valuable lesson to remember check leaders for nicks after catching. This was 20# test broke in the middle,so I'm sure it must have been damaged. That's why it's called fishing not catching.
Out in shipping lanes 500' water.
65' to 85' cable.
Kingfisher spoons: Cookies & Cream, Silver & Green these were the main catchers
UV purple & Splatter Back - 11" flashers - 20' back
Cable @ 35 - 45 degrees fast!!!
GOOD TIME!!
