so from the feed bk in my reports & pm's ya'll are amazed that a 'OL DOG actualy FISHS!!!..
well i do..in spite of be'n a cripple and pish poor weather all sring "summer" pffttt yea rrright..
like we had those..i wont go into the whole "coldest wetest nasssstiest spring in recorded history thing"...just start a stupid arguement...prolly about "politics"...
but yea i forced my self to get out some..i've lived here a long time..i own the best clothes 'n rain gear money can buy...so a few times in Apr...some trips in May 'n June....and got out quite a bit during all that lovely hot weather in July(hahaha)....
but like MANYYYY "regs" in here i dont make a report...in here...everytime i go out!!!!..
lots of diff reasons for it...protect'n a resource..too busy..some are just voyures here...i'm sure some dont post because of the snotty comments .... that some just cant stand to just refrain from posting....i guess i myself am at the point where i post when i "FEEL" like it...i'm guesstimate'n 3ish % of the time...i feel like it...had all winter(nov-apr) to plan/prepare/think about it being either house bound or bed ridden...hit trout with some "new" gear and some oooold rigs that i hadnt used in yearrrrs...mined some huge trout out of some of my fav lakes where i had long given up on ever see'n a "trophy fish" again....i've been killll'n the salmon rrright where and how i told ya'll to fish in the far south sound...i've seen the "OLD HARD CORE GUYS" out around Anderson and Boston Harbor a buncha times ..and when ask'd about the fish'n..there werent very many times that i didnt get the 'ol smug smile and wave...them me and a small boat guy and 1 of those crazy Yak'rs...we ALL caught our fare share of lingers down this way...the lil blk mouths the Squaxins raise that stay/live in the far south sound and are footballs... niiiice clean/large crab...some huge reds... there ya go..
anyways i'm "feel'n" a lil better...on the recent hot days i made a point of be'n out amongst 'em ...and put'n the sun to my blk tee shirt clad old broken back ...
so be'n not so "grouchy" ...i might "FEEL" like it some more...heck i'm just about feel'n good enuf to do some scrap'n...bend some rude noses ..loose'n some teeth...gotta get your "fun" in while ya can...i'm guna die someday ya know....gotta rock when/while ya can..

so the reason i "FEEL" like make'n a report today is...i got to go on a fish'n trip with the "TEKY KID" and some friends/brothers..a couple of which i hadnt seen in years..so here goes...

outta the blue i get a call from my bro Kevin..well the story is he's gotta go...mumbled somethin about not want'n to do a mass murder/suicide at his house and burn the dirty sob down!!!...
LORDY!!!...so he's steal'n his dad's boat..the 1 that is his prized posssession!!!! and he nevvvver evvvvvver loans out...this must be a BIG F'N DEAL...

the boat is a beauty ...bout 40FT custom built in the 70s and lovingly restored a few years bk and repowered with fuel injected big bloc chevy's...putt'n out of the harbor on the fly'n bridge was purty kewl...
so for a spur of the moment trip...we pulled it off grrreat...we had designated drivers for our rigs and even for the boat(1 of my bros is a lic'd skipper and has fished from Ak to the gulf) ...one of or the only reason we got dad's boat i'm sure lololol...got the call at 6pm ..motor'd outta the harbor at about 5:30 am ..turned her south..with justttt a sliver of the brightest red sun ya ever saw come'n up over the cloud bank...and crrrrranked up the big blocs..ooo man...mayyybe a 3 ft swell..mayyybe a 6 in chop...we flew past the big steel charter boats that were headed out early for "combo" trips....10 miles and not very much later the skipper idles her down next to a huge raft of birds and brings her about...slips her into N and a few mins later says.."we got marks down at 40ft and theyre working a small bait ball"....gear down...wasnt 2 mins fish on...and that's the way it went the rest of the morning...run to birds find bait catch fish...nuthin to it !!!...welll we had to suffer through C&R'n so many too short kings 'n wild coho to get our limits i lost count..bummer...round 11:00 or so we only needed a couple more to fill limits so we were C&R'n everything look'n for a BIG king..bummer..i havent had arms (and bk) this sore from crank'n reels in yearrrssss...bummer..biggest fish was caught by the skipper YAY!!! ...at a lil under 30 lbs caught at about 9:30 on a lame old jig(the cheapo 1s..piece of lead about 6in X 5/8in with eyes at both ends covered in white shrink wrap!!!) smeared with jelly scent ...we finnaly kept 2 smallish hatchery coho that we got bleed'n pretty bad and were done and eat'n/drink'n lunch(fillets from 1 of the silvers lolol) by1:30...bummer...not so fast says i...i ran into a guy i know on the dock before we shoved off..told me about a place he try'd bass fish'n a few days before and couldnt get his gear down past the dam'dable rock fish...bummer...so i gave the gps #s to the skipper 'n he says 5 miles south of here.....the big blocs ate that up so fast we only had time to get a couple rigs set up (wad of lead and 2 flys roughly tied in about 3ft apart )...so over they go while we keep rig'n more poles...bang!!! fish on...fish on..fish on...doubles...so we gave up rig'n poles and took turns on the 1s all ready rig'd lololol...we drifted off 'n ran bk up for another drift...about 20 mins into it Kev starts laugh'n 'n yells "poles out...poles out"...we better count how many fish we have in the fish box!!!...so after a quick count and a few sips on coctails...2 lololol....we had the skipper (who'd been work'n hard) catch 'em...5 mins later...we're done...60 rock fish and 12 salmon tucked away in ice below deck ...bummer....what to do now????...consensus was ..we putt'd around and wandered bk up the coast head'n bk to port for a few hours..sit'n on the back deck sip'n coctails in the gorgeous sunshine blast'n old rock on the stereo and sing'n 'n laugh'n like a buncha drunk'n sailors....o wait..

6:30 pm ...after hugs all around and promises to do it again...i'm passed out in the front seat of the truck headed home with a lil over a 100 lbs of dead fish and the "TEKY KID" drive'n...dream'n about huge rafts of birds swin'n in the chop...bummer....DOG

Great to see you hit them hard! 40 feet is a BIG boat. I like the mixed bag.
