Well the wife had a day off well most of the day off she pulled a 24 hour stay awake so she could fish with our kids and myself.

Fished Dash Point Pier from about noon until dark. and caught probly 7 nice crabs Tears to my eyes toss all 7 back nice size ones also, 6 plus inches males & female and a couple bull fish Used to catch other fish Failed plan and a star fish and other then that nothing. Looked for salmon but did not see anything couple other fisher folks out also nothing. Crabs were hot and all nice size also but all tossed back. No one wants to risk a ticket for something you can buy in the store for alot less then the ticket. fished with a bit of everything...

Worms caught bullfish
Table shrimp Nothing
Herring Nothing well crab but they don't count
Sand shrimp nothing
Bullfish Nothing at all either

so all in all bad day for fishing but great day to spend in the sun then rain then sun with the family. Good Times will always be remembered!!!!

Check your regs. the upcoming newly added Winter Crab Season is about to go in effect for some Puget Sound areas.

Thanks for the report. But no crabbing in area 11. I am surprised that someone on the dock didn't tell you.

From reading the report it seems he knew he couldnt keep the crab. I have caught crab also when fishing for bottom fish. Sure wish that one year we could crab in area 11, considering I have never caught any big numbers of dungness crab there or seen anyone else bring in a big haul.

Kcc is correct I knew I was not able to crab there I was not going for crab, I don't even own a crab Pot YET lol soon I will make the purchase for next season though. but until then I am not in a rush to run out and buy one. I believe most of these were rock crab and salmon works on them some guy was pulling them out left and right while bottom fishing with a chunk of salmon on the line. but he also was not fishing for them.

Toni I am the one usually telling folks on the dock they are not able to keep the crab some listen some don't, but as for me risking a crab NO thank you I will buy it in a store or wait until the season is open. I am just hope all the bigguns are still in the water. they ask me for whats in season and out of season I tell them to the best of my knowledge as if I am wrong I don't want to be blamed for their lack of reading the fishing dictionary of rules and regs.

Are you serious? You caught that many fishing? Man, I can't some times get that many with crab nets. I am sorry I misunderstood. I hope they are there in season, too. I hope to be there crabbing and pinking. :-)

Toni, I catch more crabs then I do fish out there I think I caught maybe a total of 15 fish while fishing several weekends from morning until closing . I am not sure if I will buy gear as I have better luck probably with a hook and bait lol I know if i get the correct gear aka crab pots or nets I will not catch one. that s how my luck is. but we will see each other out their for pinks and crabbing that s for sure.
