So, this one is a four despite having only one bite the entire evening. Headed out of Jim Clark marina with my dad around 5:15pm. Gassed up at the Elliott bay marina and headed out to West Point. Started getting everything set up south of the Point with green splatter 11" flasher + coho killer blue splatter UV on one rod fished at 90' on the downrigger, with green needle fish hoochie on the green 11" flasher. Started trolling north in about 170' of water and started to crack open a few beers when the blue coho killer goes off.
Thought at first it was a coho or dogfish, but once dad grabbed the rod the king took off for the bottom. Several minutes later we had a 14# hatch in the boat and a couple big smiles. He hasn't caught a king for a few years, so it was good to get him back out there. We should have called it quits then since we fished two more hours at west point and the east side of Bainbridge.
