It appears from the photo that the fish is not inside the gunwale, so it's all good.

Blurock, you did nothing wrong here and by the way, nicely done and great pic! The fish will live! Sorry G-Man, I had to chime in as well. I definitely appreciate members who care about the law and our resources, as long as their comments are accurate which was not the case here. No harm no foul.

7/29/2010 10:02:00 AMFor one thing when you hold a salmon, your are taking some of there protective slim off. Witch can in turn hurt the fish. Granted i know about the gunwale. And it was just a shaker blackmouth so why did you need to take a picture. To prove to you buddies, pointless in my opinion.
