The weather report was for partially sunny skies with minimal to no wind for the entire day. Coming across I-90 the lake was as smooth as glass and we were anticipating a day of exploring the Sound for areas that were holding fish. However, once we arrived at the launch, it became apparent that we were in for a rough day. With winds out of the Northwest, and at a clip that was nearing white cap speeds we decided to stay inside the bay and see if the weather would break. Needless to say it didn't and we ran all over the bay looking for bait and fish, both of which seemed to be in short supply. We did finally manage to mark fish near the North end of the bay, which also happened to have the roughest water due to the tide and wave action on the bar in that area. We managed to pick up 2 shakers, 1 was fairly good sized, and a flounder. A pretty dismal showing for 4 hours of fishing. The only bright spot was that I managed 2 keeper dungies and a huge red rock crab in the pots I dropped. Had a couple more keeper sized crab but their shells were soft, so back to the depths they went. Both shakers took a Brad's Superbait Cutplug lure loaded with anchovy scent.
