Kirk and I had no intention of fishing Kapowsin, this day; however, the lake we were told was full of biting crappie, Lake Whitman, failed to produce. We just happened to stop by Kapowsin on the way home, Kent. It was about 1430. There were several folks on the dock at Erikson's. They were catching perch like mad. We put the boat in and caught many yellow perch with worms. I can not explain this, because the books all say perch are not supposed to act like this until the water reaches at least 43'F, the water in the lake that day was 41'F, go figure.
