My Fiance's Dad came over to visit us this weekend from Port Angeles. We said we'd take him out fishing and would definately get some fish! He was very excited. We headed out this morning from Everett Marina at about 5:45 am. We had lines in the water by 6 am right in the middle of all the hundreds of other boats at Humpy Hollow. At about 6 am her Dad's rod was a bouncin'. He grabbed it and started to fight his first salmon with us. No sooner did we have it in the net, when my Fiance's pole was happy! She got that one to the boat no problem. I had rigged her dad's pole on a downrigger with standard humpy gear; she was flat-lined off the back with 4 oz of lead and the standard humpy gear; and I was on a downrigger also with standard gear. It was hot action from then on. By 8 am, we had 6 fish in the box and had lost 7. We even had our first triple header!! That was wild! The action continued until about 10 am when we decided that we were done. We ended the day with 10 pink salmon in the box ranging from 3 pounds up to about 6 pounds. We probably had at least 20 or so hookups throughout the morning. It was a very fun and exciting day on the water and her Dad really had a blast. It was also nice to see all the families out there with their kids and being able to watch the little ones catch a salmon!
Pink season is here!! Get your kids out there and have a blast!
