A friend and I went out to E/B to try our luck for some salmon slabs. The day didn't start out to good, right from the start his boat was having motor problems. He thought he had it fixed but after being on the water for about thirty minutes, we discovered that it wasn't. Thankfully the kicker motor was running fine. After dodging the other boats for a couple of hours, His pole started the happy dance (his term, not mine) in the pole holder. The salmon didn't put up much of a fight at first, but it struggled a little closer to the boat. A nice 12 lb hatchery. should make some good eating. Using a black and white spoon, about 26" below the dodger, at about 85' down. Fish was hooked in about 160 feet of water. Hopefully he will have his boat ready for next weekend. Then it will be my turn.
