Went out to westport with my buddy crablegs in his 18ft olympic. We got there at 430am and were across the bar and fishing by 6am .We started fishing at 175ft and 20ft down.We saw lots of birds but not actively feeding but we put out our lines ,i had a white flasher with a white b2 squid. My buddy had a green flasher with a green a yellow squid .Our lures werent in 5 minutes and fish on .It went on all day long ,we trolled till 200ft due west trying for kings but only managed a small king that was released. The weather was great the water was great .The depths we fished were 20ft and later we went down to 50ft and over a hundred and caught silvers at all depths .There were only a few natives we caught most were hatchery silvers and in great shape. When we finaly kept our limit of fish ,we were cleaning the fish and a blue shark swam right behind the boat and ate the guts as we put them in ,he hung around a few minutes then swam off.I heard from the regulars that the kings were caught in the 30ft range pulling whole herring and whole sardines. The fish we caught had whole sardines in them ,these sardines were 7 or 8 inches big ones. The trip was a great one never so easy to catch quality fish .The launch wasnt busy coming or going .
