This is more a crabbing report than anything else, though I did take a look at the bubble to see if anything was available. I found that Saturday was better than Friday for us and we ran into a large number of legal sized but softshelled dungies. The bait of choice was squawfish and yes, suckers. Maybe because they have a different scent, but our pots baited with these fish consistently had more crabs than those baited with salmon and trout remains. I crabbed shallow, keeping the depth between 25' and 50', in the bays just South of Kayak Point.
As for the bubble, it's still a bust with nothing to be had. We fished it on Friday for a couple of hours and caught nothing, didn't see anyone catch anything either. The only bait we saw was near the Northern most tip of the boundry near the bottom in 150' of water. We kept of offerings small and trolled slow just in case we ran into an early school of pinks.
Well, I'm off to the lake to run the salt out of the boat and rinse her down. You know I'll have to run the trolling motor for about an hour or so just to make sure it's properly de-salinized.

I find if you troll around 1.7 for about 3 hours you'll get all the salt removed!
