Fished in the San Juans with TomS. We launched at Washington Park and wanted to start in Thatcher Pass for the outgoing tide. It was pretty windy outside and most of the boats tucked in closer to the shore of Blakely Island. We fished through the tide change without a bite to about 11:00.

We decided to move, took a look at the spots closer into the Pass, but headed for Humphrey Head. I was using a mini HotSpot with an e-chip and a UV green Kingfisher spoon. Tom had a full size HotSpot with e-chip and a Coyote spoon. We were on our first trolling pass there when my pole got a hit and released from the downrigger. After a nice fight, Tom netted the 12 pound, 30 1/2 inch male for me.

We fished a couple of more spots on the inside and even tried the "Hail Mary" pass at Fidalgo Head, but couldn't get another bite. Came back to Washington Park at a low tide and had a guy about hit my boat trying to jump in and take his sled out in front of us as I drove down the truck. Saw four or five deer as we were tying down the boat in the parking lot.
