Tried to fish out of Everett with TomS. We sat at the ramp in the fog and ate breakfast sandwiches, then launched the boat and sat some more. Finally decided to head out and it seemed like 5 other boats followed us out. GPS'ed our way to SE Hat. Some bait there, but a seal followed us around. Tom got a nice release and had a fish on for maybe 30 seconds before the seal got to it. We saw it dive on the depth sounder. After a tussle to get back gear, Tom gave a good tug and the flasher and fish head flew out of the water and we dodged them as they flew at us.
GPS'ed over to Clinton and found shakers but no keepers. At one point we saw a bigger cruiser get in the middle of the ferry pylons and then the ferry horn blasted. It seemed like the guy went straight towards where the ferry path was. We expected to hear a collision but didn't.
We heard on the radio that further up Saratoga Passage was clear, so we once again GPS'ed that direction. Rounding Sandy Point we found glorious sunshine and flat water. Fished Langley for a couple of passes then moved to East Point/Baby Island. Tom got a 21 incher up there, but that was all we had to show for it. I got about a 14 inch clipped silver but not much else.
