Finally got back out on the water after a week of work!! Launched from Mukilteo and put my line in around 7:30 am (late start) about halfway to Humpy Hollow. Started with standard pink gear (white flasher/pink squid) at 50 feet. Nothing. Only trolled south. Almost to the Shipwreck at about 8:30 am when I decided to switch it up a bit. Changed my flasher to a Green/Glo Hotspot. Shortened my leader to 14 inches and switched from standard squid to mini squid (still pink). Loaded the head of the squid with Pro Cure Herring Gel. Let 'er down to 73 feet. Within 2 minutes, FISH ON!! 3 lb 8 oz pink. Cut it and iced it right away. Put my line back in the water at 73 feet. WHAM! Another pink. 4 lb 2 oz. Put my line down again to 73 feet. Another pink. 3 lb 6 oz. But, alas, the elusive limit fish. Had it on within 5 minutes of my 3rd one, but lost it halfway up. Bite stopped at 9:22 am. Off the water by 10:30 am. Beautiful day despite the horrible conditions early in the morning. Windy, cold and rough water greeted me at 7:30 am. But off the water at 10:30 am because it was too hot. Only in Puget Sound does the weather always keep you guessing. :)
