Went out fishing around 7:30 AM and trolled off of Gig Harbor. We were using herring that was prepared and put color dye that was green in it. We trolled from 50-60 feet down with the downriggers. I used a dodger while my dad used a kind of dodger that spins around in circles. Around 9:00 we started to catch fish because we were using hoochies at first because we had to let the herring thaw out for awhile. First fish we hooked up was a pink and at first just looked at the mouth and saw the white mouth and thought it was a silver and put it in the aerator. When we went back around in the circle where we caught the first fish I hooked up again with another pink and it got tied around my dad's line and downrigger line, once we got the mess done and got my fish up, my dad pulled up his line and found he had a pink on his line too, so it was kind of a double in a way. The next time we circled around the same area my dad caught a hatchery king that went 10-15lbs. The place where we were catching them were probably a 1000 yards away in between these 2 little points from a large dock off of Gig Harbor. It was a good day, wished we went back the next day but had other things to do.
