My friend Paul wanted me to show him how to use his new downriggers on his new 21' Northwest Jet Boat. I was more than happy to show him the finer points to downrigger fishing for salmon so he can have a successful salmon season this year.

We launched at Pt D. at around 0730 and I thought we would first try out the entrance to Quartermaster Harbor. We fished QMH for a little while and didn't get any action. Then we moved around the corner to Pt Dalco. The current exchange at Dalco was very strong so we didn't stay there very long. We then motored over to Redondo seeking calmer waters. We managed to catch and release three sub legal Chinook and a few flounders. We stayed at Redondo through the early afternoon tide change then headed back to the ramp.

All in all a beautiful day on the water!
