Went fishing on our boat around Maxwelton Beach in front of our cabin and down by the cliffs towards Cultus Bay and Possession Point. I went out by myself right after we put the boat in the water (9:00am), and went out and set my pole up with a Size O Dodger and Green and Glow in the Dark White at 60 feet down on the downriggers in 90-100 feet of water, right out front of our cabin. I was doing some organizing on the front of the boat, and when I looked back at the rod, not 30 seconds had my line been down in the water at the right depth, the pole went off. I ran back to the back of the boat, set the hook and the fight was on. Made a few great leaps and a run right at the boat. I had to net it myself, and successfully did that. In the boat, it was a 10lb. wild Silver, just 5 minutes after having launched the boat. Caught a 4 or 5 pound Blackmouth (released) at 7:30pm (same rig), and Sunday we caught a 4 lb Coho on the same rig too, but this fish hit at the surface 50 feet behind the boat when I was reeling up to check the line. Lots of Dogfish in the area, always getting your lures/hoochies on dodgers and flashers??? Anyway I had Salmon Feast Smelly Jelly on the Lures so that might have done it but I was trolling with artificial lures at about 1.7-2.0 mph? Who knows...Good luck
