There are great minus tides starting Thursday, April l7th through the 22nd. It's a great time to get out and enjoy the beaches and get your limit of clams and oysters at the same time. Potlatch State Park is open for oysters but closed for clams. Lilliwaup north is open for both. Oysters are easy, take more work. Dosewallips tidelands are open for both. Limits are 18 oysters, shucked on the beach & 40 clams l-minimum or 10 pounds.

Great cod fishing! They're hitting just about anything you throw at them. Leadhead jigs in black or motor oil work good. Also, herring always works. Look for structure in 30 to 6 C of water and you'll get fish. Ling cod opens May 1st. Remember that salmon closes April 10th in the canal.

Don't forget licenses expired March 3lst. Get your new license now. Remember to send in your old punch cards.

Recreational shrimp season begins April 19 in Puget Sound Marine areas 8-1,8-2 & 9 will be open Thursday thru Sunday every week. Marine Area 10 and Port Townsend Bay will 1 open Thursday sand Saturdays only. Hood Canal shrimp season is May 17, 21, 24, & 29, 2003 from 9am to 1 pm.. Rules are the same as last year - 80 shrimp per person - one pot person - four pots per boat. Stop by Cushman Boats and check out their new octagon shrimp pots. They also carry shrimp bait pellets. Cat food will be available at Rest-A-Way RV Park, just north of Hoodsport and at the 76 station grocery store in Hoodsport.
