Rick's report is way off base. Albies average 50lbs tops East coast record off Montauk,NY is 90+ lbs. Maybe it was a yellow fin tuna, id'd by extra long yellow side fin. Temperature in high 60's is right for tuna and I believe they caught an 80 lb. white marlin off Westport last El nino. BTW, if he had less than 50lb test line, he would have been spooled. A #200 tuna of any variety can travel 50 mph and you'd need a flying gaff to get into the boat. The largest tuna I have landed was around 180#. On the Montauk boats I've lost tuna in the 500+ range, having been spooled of 200 yds of 130lb. test line. I wish his report is true, but I doubt it..,
*Editor's Note: I didn't believe the report either, but it did bring a smile to my face. :-) Now if I could just catch a 200 pound salmon...
