Came back from Dog lake empty handed after a bad camping trip. So a buddy and I headed to Ruston way on the Dash Point Pier. We got there about 6pm and tied on 11/2 ounce slip sinkers to a 2 way swivel. Then from there tied on an 18 inch leader with 2/0 hook. Using squid we cast out as for as we could. Within minutes started catch bullheads. We caught about 15 or so a piece. They were small and not much fight but man they hit like something fierce sometimes. After an hour or so we moved around to another spot on the pier and started fishing again. Around 7:45 my buddy pulled in a nice dogfish shark, about 3lbs and 25 inches long. After that we were pulling these sharks in as fast as we could wet a line. We finally packed up about 9pm and headed home. But in that hours time we probably caught 35 sharks and it was a lot of fun. I have also caught a few flounder, and some ratfish at this spot. It's a good time if you just want to catch some fish. I like fishing here because you never know what might bite. There are a lot of people there just walking around and quite a few people with crab traps out. I have even caught some starfish on my pole. Its a good time. I will try to keep all updated with my results. Oh by the way I caught one shark that was 33 inches and a little over 6lbs, put up a good fight.
Good luck
