One week of illness left me too tired to put my boat in the water - so I decided to fish the pier instead. I got a lazy man's start and fished from about 10:30am to 12:15. The pier was pretty crowded for a week day. 98% of the anglers were casting buzz bombs. I went with a bobber and whole herring. I didn't get any hits. I did see a couple of fish caught while I was there. I also saw a neat sight I've never seen before at the pier: a dozen salmon racing along the surface. Before I had a chance to gently ease my herring down to them the buzz bombers had tossed their jigs and scattered the lot of them. Oh, well, it was more about getting out of the house than anything else. I couldn't help but look out at the boats with a certain amount of envy - until I made a beeline for the public restrooms. Being sick sucks. :-(
