My wife joined Matthew, James and I for a peaceful day fishing the Bar. The weather cooperated with sunny skies and mild conditions. We fished from 8am to noon. Running three poles, at 65 ft a green hoochie and green flasher with herring strip. At 45-50 ft a dodger with whole herring. At 25-30 ft a dodger/herring setup and then a dodger/spoon rig. We caught three salmon and missed a couple bites. Two salmon came in on the 65ft rig (9am and 11am) and one came on the 45ft rig (10am). High tide was around 11:20am. We started on the SE side of the Bar in 100ft of water and worked over to the SW side, 100ft line. While there we encountered a huge herring ball that stretched for 50 yards or so. If I had a dip net I could have brought hundreds of fish on board. The dogfish were also in thick so we moved north. We ended the day over on the NW corner. The fish ran 5-6 lbs.
