You would have to be fishing with out a hook to have a bad day. And even then you might get a pink if it jumps into the boat.
I've been getting on the water before the sun comes up. Once the sun starts to hit the water things get crazy. I've been fishnig the humpie speacial. 35-70 feet off the down rigger.
If you get a fish on one rod leave the other down. 75% of the time the other will hook up while fighting the other. Keep the fish on away from the other line. Other wise you will have a mess.
I saw a 25 plus king landed and released. I also had a fish on I never saw. Had it near the boat but then took off and took line for about a min before getting off.
Last trip out Aug 31. We had 4 fishers in the boat all limited in less than 2 hours. Lost 1/2 as much as we landed.
Then we set out crab traps in Area 9. Pulled pots every 15 mins. Went home with 2 limits of crabs after 2 hours.
Get out there and enjoy.
