Headed out from the Islander Charters with Skipper Don and Deckhand Rick. After two hours of traveling we finally rolled up on where the fish were supposed to be. We dropped lines and fished for maybe ten minutes without a hit before the captain had us pull up and move. After another hour of fishing and moving we finally got into the fish. I was the first one to land a nice hatchery silver, and while we were in the fish, almost everyone on board (all eight of us) were catching fish. A few wild silvers were caught and released. All in all I caught 5 keepers (3 kings and 2 silvers). The largest king was about 25 lbs. So I caught the first keeper, the most keepers and the largest keeper. I was hoping for some bottomfish as well, but couldn't seem to swing it.. Truth be told though, while the boat limited out, we really had to work for it. We left the docks around 6 a.m. and didn't return till about 5 p.m. So I wouldn't say it came easily, but we got them nonetheless. All in all it was a great day to spend with my father and older brother. I'd never charter fished for salmon before, but anticipate going again sometime. Give the Islander a call, they'll hook you up.
