The kids and I went out on the lake on a last minute decision. Don't ask me why because it was snowing, windy and cold. In the very low teens or high single digits. It was a bit chilly to say the least.
We didn't have any worms or maggots but thought we would go have some fun anyway. The lake had about 6 inches of snow on it and another 2 inches of frozen snow. The ice was about 6-7 inches thick. We really didn't have the correct bait, like I said...we went last minute. But, we took corn and power bate. The kids got a lot of bites and I caught two crappie on power bate. They were about 7 inches or so. We threw them back to their friends. :)
We had some but look forward to a great season of ice fishing this year on the lake.
