Decided to bring my pontoon boat with me when going to visit my wife's sister in Moses Lake. I had thought about going to fly-fish Lenice & Nunnally. Saturday morning when I got up to go I noticed a rather large storm front coming in from the west, it looked a little better to the north so I decided on Lake Lenore.

What a Godsend that turned out to be. Got on the water by 800 am and proceeded to watch fish being caught by about everyone but me. I hadn't been here in about 10 years and thought to myself "What am I doing Wrong"?

I finally asked a gent in a Float tube who had just caught one and was really close to me what he was using. He stated that if I had some extra strike indicators he would trade me for a few of his fly's. I also had the depth set way too low. It's amazing how nice people can be sometimes. Well to make a rather long story short I proceeded to catch 17 Lahontan Cutts over the next 3 hours, one of which was over 26' and in full spawn color. ("WOW" to MR. whoever you are, thank you). I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will be returning this next Saturday with my best friend, my son.

I fished the north end of the lake using black/or red chironomids w/ white beadheads and no ribbing @ 3 ft. on the drop. If you see me I have a blue fishcat pontoon and would be more than happy to trade with you as I have tied up about 50 of that same pattern this week.
