Well so much for the current batch of fish in front of Kirkland!! Went out there and met up with four Tribal fishing trollers that had the whole front of Kirkland netted off! Watched them pull in quite a few fish.... Then after they left for the next three hours I saw six fish total on the graph from Kirkland launch up to Juanita bay. Might be time to hit the rivers.

Bummer I was up there last night when they came in and tried to post a warning for anyone fishing today. It was opened a 6:00Pm Thursday night to 10:00 AM Friday, and they where at least 8 netters from Hunts point to the Marina at the North of the Bay. So I feel your pain totally unfair. What happened to the 50/50 rule? Isn't it also true that we are entitled to 50%. It was fun while it lasted.

We were there this morning too... wish we would have known about the nets... We managed to go 1 for 3 landing a nice wild buck around 6 or so pounds.

finally ran up there to kirkland area with my mom this morning. Skunked. Dodged in and out of the nets trying to troll. 6 hours of targeting salmon. Then around noon we gave up and targeted the perch that we made gps marks of all morning.... 53 nice sized keeper perch. some 12 inch plus too! Nice to go home with smiles on our faces!

Sunfighter, there are two significant misconceptions in what you wrote, and it's really worth reading up on--read the Supreme Court review of US. v. Washington for example. Tribes are NOT guaranteed 50%, in fact they are at MOST guaranteed 50%, but can be less if they have other sufficient means of support (e.g. casinos). Additionally, the ruling says stuff about BOTH SIDES having a right to their share.

You would think the Indians would at the very least be courteous to the sportsman. But quite the contrary, I was out there fishing Thursday evening when they first showed up. One of the Indian boats named "Easy Kash" pulled in right in front of me as I was trolling, stopped and just sat there. I asked why he stopped right in front of me and he said go around. Then he started throwing the F bomb out at me.. Later when they started stringing their nets, same thing, right across the front of my troll. I had to make a 90 degree left. They act like they have more right to be there than we do.. I understand they have the right to fish but they make no effort at community relations with the sportsman.. Couldn't they get their fish while they had their nets across the front of the locks or in the ship canal.? They have to come out to the only place the sportsman even has a chance to maybe get a fish and blow that up? This is total b s.. Something needs to be done. Do we have any representation out there?
