Effective dates: Sept.16 through Oct. 31, 2016.
Species affected: Salmon.
Location: Lake Washington (King Co., North of the Hwy. 520 Bridge and East of the Montlake Bridge and including that portion of Sammamish River from 68th Ave. NE Bridge downstream): open to fishing for salmon.
Other Information: Daily limit of 2 coho, minimum size 12 inches. Release chinook and sockeye salmon.

9/21/2016 7:10:00 PMMarked or unmarked are fair game. The reason the fishery is the limited to north of the 520 bridge is to protect the wild fish heading south to spawn in the Cedar River. Of course it then makes perfect sense that the tribe can net the ship canal and take fish before they have had a chance to segregate themselves...
Also, with the water being as warm as it is during the first part of the fishery, fish that are released don't have a high survival rate, so the State figures you might as well keep what you catch. Just because they swam away, doesn't guarantee they will survive.
