Got the boat in the water at ol' Lake Goodwin shortly after 8am. I tried to get there earlier but the 6 am alarm is tough when you don't get home from work till almost 1am. I trolled until about 10:30, landing a nice 14.5 inch rainbow about 9:30. Then I killed the motor and drifted Bain until about 1pm. I had green powerbait on 1 rod and a green Garlic scented artificial worm on the other rod. Got the smallmouth probably around noon on the bottom 37 feet deep. It puked up a big gob of little worms or shrimp as I was fighting it. Trolled a little more until about 2pm before calling it a day. Those were the only bites I had all day, so fishing was pretty slow but not terrible. The water temperature jumped from 67.5 degrees to 70.3 while I was there, so that probably turned off the trout bite, but fishing should be pretty hot in a few weeks when the temps start to fall.
