What a beautiful afternoon on Lake Washington. Calm waters, light breeze, and not another soul to be seen. I had the entire bay to myself right in front of Downtown Kirkland again. After taking notes from this weekend I headed right back to my hot spot in 50 ft of water. Set my gear down to 40 and started my troll. 5 min I get a small tap. 10 min later my rod gets buried into the water with line peeling. After a good fight and a couple spins in my pontoon I land a Chinook. Grabbed my phone snapped a pic and made sure I revived him before letting him go never taking it out of the water. Now that I think about it, my last post I stated I had a Silver on. I do believe I may have had a King on then as well. Anyways, fished for one more hour and landed two cutts. One being 23 inches and 5 1/2 lbs. The other was just shy of 2 lbs but a long 19 inches.

Best part of this trip was I left my bait and my re rigged Mini Cut Plug at home. So I dug up a uv green wiggle hoochie I had for Kokanee and a 8 inch moon jelly sling blade. Tossed some Herring scent inside the skirt and on the bill and to my surprise, IT WORKED! I didn't have high hopes of even catching anything after noticing I left my bait. But a good trolling speed and right depth, I was able to pull out dinner! Really shocked that this lake is under fished. Such quality Cutthroat and fun to fight. Well, until next time.... fish on Y'all!

Thank you guys, it's just nice to have this lake as my backyard and be able to come away with some nice catches. Even better, the solitude it comes with. No other fishing boats to be seen.

Cobrar543- I think if you fished on the Kirkland side of the lake you would be able to land some nice ones. I usually don't do that well on the South end of Mercer Island. I know others such as my guy SalmonBarry who kills it down there. Anyways, hit me up and maybe we can link up and fish so I can show you the hot spots over this way.

Hookset'n- that's what I'm guessing, it's a good thing the lake is massive! Plenty room for everyone.

Sermark- I set my gear back about 25-30 feet back. Good luck!
