Fished Baker Fri, Sat and Sunday mornings and then evenings with naps in between. Camped at the Panarama camp ground and was glad to be able to tie my boat up to a tree at my camp site and avoid the launch every morning. The weather had moved in Friday and killed the bite for the most part. Saturday was the most miserable as it rained all morning on us. Everyday I'd guess there were 200 boats at the north end of the lake (combat trolling). Sunday was the nicest morning of them all, and MT. Baker even made an appearance. About 6:30am my fishing buddy was giving up after the long weekend without fish, and almost immediately after he finished his sentence, FISH ON! We landed a decent size Sockeye and it made all of the hard work worth while. Used a combination of smile blades with small pink hootchies, and smile blades without hootchies, both with tandem 2/0 red hooks tipped with sand shrimp. I don't know if it was coincidence or not, but all weekend I was only using the tail of the sand shrimp on the front hook, but Sunday I switched to a whole shrimp rigged through both hooks. Had a great time and, wow, what a beautiful place.
