We decided to hit banks lake on Saturday. Boy was it a hot day and I was very thankful that my friend had just purchased a Bimini top cuz it was about 15 degrees cooler under the top.
We arrived from Yakima to banks lake around 9:30am and lines in the water around 10am. We went straight to barker flats since that's where everyone was fishing. We started fishing in 20-30 feet of water with no luck. After about an hour, we started trolling in 10-15 fow and that was when we started getting into fish. Gold spinner blades with chartreuse beads seemed to be the ticket for us. Tried using gold smiley blades but the walleye didn't want to have anything to do with it. Also noticed quite a bit of walleye on the surface about 3 feet below the surface just cruising. Decided to throw a double jointed crayfish pattern rapala with no luck.
Anybody know why these walleye were on the surface?
