Mackinaw (Lake Trout) fishing on Lake Chelan continued at a fair rate. We averaged around one fish per hour in our boats. Most of the fish came from the South Shore edge of the lower basin. U-20 Luminous Chartreuse flatfish continued to be our mainstay. The fish averaged 2.5 to 5 pounds with a few larger fish.
Fishing on Rufus Woods has picked back up over the last week. Kokanee and rainbows are being caught in the lower part of the reservoir in the top 30 feet of the water column. Baited flies and wedding rings behind dodgers and flashers have produced for guide Joe Heinlen.
It looks like our early spring warm weather has ended, and more typical weather is headed in. I wonder how that will affect next weeks fishing... Tight Lines. Anton Jones of Darrell & Dad's Family Guide Service.
