Beautiful 0600 AM morning for some fishing.
Haven't fish Echo (King County) but a few times since I was a kid growing up there. I don't know why this little urban lake doesn't get more bass attention.... or maybe after today I do know why....

Great parking access, and easy clean shore access for float tube.
The lake has great lily pad fields, multiple down trees, and a few fishy docks.

Started out at the access, moved around the lake going North. Threw the sexiest chartruese chatter bait I had. Brand new box of 6.
Worked it pretty hard. Threw a white spinner bait as well. Trying to stay away from my "Senko habit". OK, threw the Senko as well.

Not a single bump, even from dinks. Did see two fish break the surface, prob trout.

3/4 the way around the lake, I had/had enough!
Pulled out, hit my neighborhood lake, and on the last cast got a 3 lber.

If anyone fished Echo for LMB, and you can at least speak to what is in there, I'd love to hear from you on a PM.

The lake holds some nice sized largemouth. I've broke off a 5 to 6lb fish last week off my kayak. The others were 2-3 lbs. It's a deep lake with a lot of structure. I don't think it gets a ton of pressure due to the lack of access. Largemouth have all spawned now. You'll see bass fry cruising the lilly pads. I've had better luck fishing overcast days using both Sekos with a little bit of weight and some on a crank baits https://www.facebook.com/KayakFishingWashington/

This lake does have LM bass in it. I use to always see a couple around the area of the down tree near the park. Then for sure along the lilly pads on that north side up to the first dock. It's been a long time since I fished that lake. My enthusiasm for it went south at some point after they beautified the shoreline along that north end. Years ago before the path was placed in all that shoreline was accessible. I'd always catch some nice hold over trout but it's been a long time. Then again Lake Ballinger also use to have a lot of LM Bass. Probably still does near the island area.

I think we are in the post spawn slump. The fish have moved deeper to recover from the spawn. I caught a few fish in Haller and Bitter on Saturday with one at 1.5 lbs. I have caught a few decent fish in Echo this year and saw one big mama at 4+.
