We went out on Saturday putting in at Connely Park at about 8:00. We started trolling with black and gold spinners and slow death set ups and trolled for about an hour with no luck. So I changed one of the rigs to orange and white and within about 5 minutes we had the first walleye. So I changed all the set ups to orange and white. We trolled in 9 – 20’ of water at about 1.5 mph with side planners and 1oz bottom bouncers. We fished until about 12:30 and had to get off the water to go do “Honey Do’s”.
We ended up catching 7 walleye and only kept 5 walleye and a smallmouth. Two of the walleye were just over 22” and the smallest kept and caught was 16”. Fishing was a little slow but steady. Not a bad day on the lake.
