Tough time on the lake. Got to the lake about 6:00am and the parking lot was nearly full. Water was flat most of the day and the skies clear, so it was a great time on the water. There were a number of boats anchored along the 5mph buoy line on the south side of the lake. We targeted kokanee, and got a few (so the rating of 2), but noting like I am used too on this lake. It was tough going for kokanee, but we couldn't keep the rainbow of our lines. The limit of rainbow as easy, but that wasn't what we were after. Spoke with other anglers, same thing, a few kokanee but lots of rainbows. Most of the rainbows were in the 8" to 11" range. The Kokanee are a little bigger than the last few years.

Thank you for the report. I think it may be like American. Large but few kokanee. Only time will tell

I was there the day they dumped 4,500 rainbow in. what a spectacle. Two years ago, they planted the usual 40k kokes, with an additional 2,500 later. I think the fish are there. But, if they are so nice, it could be that the good feed, is making them finicky, for our offerings. I have gone three times, and only have nine to my credit. may go this morning. also, sometimes kokes dont really kick in, till at least mid may.

Perhaps last year's unusually high temps and warmer water associated with those high temps resulted in higher than usual mortality among juvenile fish last year. Would stand to reason that with less competition, the remaining fish would grow somewhat larger.
