Took my Zodiac inflatable out to Cottage Lake on Sunday morning just to test her out before summer. We arrived at about 7:00-7:30 and there weren't many boats on the water but the dock was pretty packed. Didn't bring my Trolling motor or anchor so we just paddled toward the middle of the lake. Fish were jumping everywhere so I started throwing a little Rooster tail out there to try my luck with no success. Since I didn't have an anchor we decided to throw a couple of bobbers on and drift. I Haven't used one of those things in 15 years so I thought it would be fun. We were mainly using pink Gulp maggots and chartreuse sparkle power bait eggs (No scent added to either.) Every time I've used pink or bright green at this lake I've done well. We set the bullet weight about 3.5 to 4 feet from the bobbers and the hook about a foot from the weight. It only took us about a minute to hook up and my buddy got a clean 13" rainbow. The sun was out all day and it was getting pretty warm out. We still didn't adjust our depth one bit. We both landed 5 rainbows, all released successfully, and lost at least 5 each from not setting hooks quick enough since we had slack in our lines at the time. We took off around noon and it was a pretty good day overall. Definitely plenty of fish in this lake.

Tight Lines!!
