Met up with my nephew to fish Lake Stevens for Kokanee using Elgin Fishing God's Tooth spoons modified for Kokanee. Started fishing at 7:15am. We were trolling by the aerator and then headed towards the Purple pennant then just trolled all over. Most fish caught near the aerator. We finished at 3:15pm. I used 1 rod and nephew used 2 rods (2 pole endorsement for him). Nephew used his favorite spinner on 1 rod and God's Tooth 50/50 Gold on the other. I used the Pink color. The modification involved removing the split rings and running the leader through the large and small openings of the spoon and running the leader along the backside of the spoon. The spoons were set on slow action. A chrome bead was used to separate the spoon from the double hook set up. God blessed with each of us limiting out with 10 fish (20 fish total). Of the 20 fish caught, 19 were caught using the God's Tooth spoons and 1 was caught on nephew's spinner. Water temp at surface was 55 degrees and the fish were located within the top 10' of the water column. Fish size ranged from 12"-14" and they looked nice and healthy.

My set up: 4" Dick Nite dodger, 12lb fluorocarbon leader 16"-18", God's Tooth, chrome bead, 2 Gamakatsu drop shot hooks size 4, white shoepeg corn on each hook and dipped in super dipping sauce/krill scent. Wishing all tight lines!

Hi ruben.duran,
I couldn't tell you the exact speed as my fish finder does not have that info but I can say the dodger was going back and forth fairly quickly without barrel rolling. We started trolling slower for a few hours catching some fish but action got better when we sped up the troll a little. Best guess maybe 1.5mph? Hope this helps.

Great report! Thanks for the details! I can't wait till my next trip to try fishing my Gods Tooth spoons with that modification. Sounds from your report and another that the speed is a little faster than last summer. I was out Friday, but didn't get on the water until just after 10 due to some trailer light issues (first trip of the season), and only caught one. Tight lines and God bless!

Hi Jimfishes2,
Long time no see! I know about trailer issues, had mine re-wired recently. Too bad I missed you on the water Friday. I think the God's Tooth will treat you very well if you follow my setup and you can use a little weight also as about half the time just flatlined and half with a little weight keeping within 10' of the surface. Tight lines and God bless!
