I was on the water around 7:45 ish. There were quite a few trailers in the lot when I arrived. I quickly found out there was some type of bass tournament being held. On top of that a group a rowers where practicing down the middle of the lake.
I started the day wit a pink/silver Macks Double D Dodger with a size 6 green Doc Spratley fly on the downrigger, and on the other line 1 oz lead with a silver Macks Double D Dodger, also trailed by a green size 6 Doc Spratley fly. Both lines had the fly between 18 - 24 inches down from the dodger. That line got 2 quick strikes. 1 I lost, the other I landed and released. That was it for a bit. Chased marks around on the downrigger, moving it between 10 - 25 feet.
After playing around with depth on the downrigger and weight/setback length on the other line, I found non stop action from 10 feet on the downrigger, and on the other line dropped to 3/8th ounce lead, about 50 feet back, and moved that line to a size 10 green Doc Spratley. I was releasing all fish until I got a bleeder, so decided I would go ahead and grab my limit today. Still couldn't get a bigger fish to the net today. I had one real good deep rod bending bite on the downrigger, but it didn't stay on. All fish were 12-13 inches again today. I probably released 4-5 fish today (one hopped out of my lap and to freedom, so I will count that as a purposeful release), long line released a good half dozen or more, and kept my 5. Once I was dialed in I didn't go but 5-10 minutes without some type of action.
Surface water temp has risen over 6 degrees since last Saturday, was sitting at 56 today.
There was a mist almost the entire morning so the video is a bit foggy and moisture kept getting on the lens.
