So my neighbor Sam was upset I didn't bring him back any of the kokanee fillets from Eastern WA; so being the good neighbor I am, chose to work the second half of my day today from my boat today to try and get some fish for him! Got to the launch at around 12:30, it was just an absolutely gorgeous day out with very little wind at all so started my troll just south of the tip of Mercer.

Water temp started at 51.6 and ended up climbing up to 57 as the day progressed~ I worked my way around the tip with no action so changed out my offering to a fire tiger apex tipped with gulp maggots. Changed my depths and speed but still no takers so decided to put on what nailed me that huge brown over at Park Lake last spring~ a clown dodger trailed by Toni's wannafishalure Orange thang tipped with a thin gulp red worm.

As I was just north of Seward park but on the other side by Mercer island, my rod dipped and popped off the clip and this fish was on the run! Took about 25 feet and then worked it back to the boat eventually gliding it into the net! A nice 19 1/2" cutty! Got Sam a fish for dinner! Tried over by Gene Sayers park toward I-90 and even on the north side of the bridge but no one else was interested in my gear!

Got a little busy with work so had to take care of some e-mails and was able to enter some orders on my laptop before finally calling it a day around 6pm.

OH well, gave it a 3 because of the quality of the fish and just a great way to spend an afternoon of work ( gotta love technology) Check out what I found in the stomach of this fish and he was gorging himself on some little minnows so know what I'll be using next time out!

See you on the water!

Nice report, Barry. Glad to see you were able to get out and enjoy the chamber of commerce weather day yesterday. Definitely sticklebacks in that puppy. I'll have to break out the chrome flatfish on them next time out.

Tight lines!

Excellent job Barry! With my phone hotspot I could do the work on the boat thing but... We may fish Lake Washington on Saturday. Depends on my motor, doing some testing tomorrow.

Thanks all! I got the fish at 24' feet on the wire~ Good luck with the motor Randy and let us know how you do out there! I may have to do a 'take your boat to work day' again tomorrow depending on how deliveries go in the AM!
