Well looked like a nice day to get some fishing in so we headed to Alder to give it a try. Arrived around 11 am to find the lot half full of trucks with boat trailers.....Turns out the Sheriffs were out for the monthly practice on the water. We launched and got set up and started fishing towards the dam as they were in the pool to the left heading out of the launch my normal spot.

Fished everything under the sun and ran from 15 to 80 ft deep chasing mark's on the FF. We were running four rods stacked on the DR's tipped with corn. We ran all over the lower end of the lake with no one take down. Lots of fish around all over in all depths. They just did not want to play today. It was very fun for us and got cold at one point so we called it a day.

The water is high and running at 44 to 45 degrees and we were 1.0 - 1.8 mph gps. All in all a fun day but no fish.

Tight lines.

Thanks for the update! Good to know the LEO's train there. I hope to see an increased presence from them out there this year. I usually won't hit Alder until early to mid-June. This seems to be the hottest time (for us anyways) for Kokanee. Tight lines!!!

Thanks for the report. I saw 2 sheriffs boats headed north when I was coming home from dropping my kicker off. Usually don't see 2 in a row like that.

Thanks Sheepdog981 figured I would try it you just never know. Toni, there were six or seven boats out there all Sheriff Pierce county. Talk with one of them for 30 min or so going over my safety items and let me know I need to change my boat ID hull numbers to be more contrast or I could get a 186.00 ticket....ouch!! He just wanted me to know very nice guy showed my a picture of a Salmon he got last year out on the Pacific. I will be spending the 22 bucks for new hull numbers this week....lol. The fish are out there just need to figure out what fish they are might be time to grab some worms and drop shot....see what grabs on. There was a few log and sticks floating around but not as many I expected. I think a few weeks and I will head back for another try, this time with my buddy heater...tight lines, Eric

Wow look how high the lake is!!!! (compared to last year)

I didn't even get a chance to go out on Alder last year!

2-years ago i fished this lake at the end of July.. I fished where you can't go fast... where you have to go between the logs?...
We got into a ton of Kokanee,

I cant wait to get back there this summer...

This launch is its a zoo in the summertime; especially in the evenings !!
