Decided to see how Fourth of July was holding up after the weekend rain. Not surprisingly we were the only ones on the lake. Three of fished from 9 am til noon. We got on the ice about halfway down the east shore. It was 4 inches, but there was rain water all over it, making it extremely slippery. Worse yet some spots near shore the ice deteriorated to 2 inches. We caught 6 bows (10"-17") on swedish pimples. Looking at the forecast this will likely be a spot to shore fish soon. Note: on all ice trips I bring along spare clothes, rope, and ice picks. I have never fallen through or have seen anyone else fall through. But I have heard stories about it. Always be prepared, ice can be unpredictable.

Good day there. I only manage little perch from silver. Maybe we can get some super cold temps. I would like to fish out there this year
