With a forecast of light winds and warming temperatures had to give the big lake a try. I had a new Garmin plotter/sonar to try and a brand new 9.9 Yamaha trolling motor to put some hours on. Big motor started on first attempt in spite of not having been run for months. The Alumaweld Stryker reached speed in seconds. Boy is the electric start and power trim and tilt a delight on the trolling motor. We fished the South End of Lake Washington. Fishing was tough though, my friend Ed and I fished depths from 12 -75 ft., used herring , prawns, worms, spoons, etc. Didn't touch a Cutthroat. Did bring a 2 year old Coho to the boat as well as a small kokanee. The kokanee was covered with large lice. Both C/R. All in all a wonderful day to be on the water, but still would have been nice to bring a couple of nice large Cutts to the boat.

Sea lice or parasites?? Last time I got a larger Kokanee it was covered in yucky parasites.. The small koks looked fine....

It was covered with large copepod type parasites. I didn't even want to handle the fish it was so slimed.

I hate those damn copepods. Often when I catch fish with them I peel them off and squish em. I keep the fish in the water during this process. Does this harm the fish if done gently? I obviously release the fish that I clean off.
