The fall pike bite on Cda Lake just might be starting to hit it's stride. Cooler overnight lows have brought the water temps down into the mid 50's and the fish were a bit more active yesterday. We fished 7 or 8 diffrent spots. Of course some produced better than others but there were fish at all of them. The fish were consistantly in about 6-8 feet of water and hit spinnerbaits and glide baits. Between the two of us we released 13 pike and missed several more. Bright colors were the ticket to getting their attention. Weather couldn't have been better. Cloudy, and NO WIND!! Finally. Had a agreat day on the water fishing with my brother. He found out the pike don't like lures that have too much dust on them. I guess if he wants to catch more fish, he needs to move his rods and tackle out in front of the golf clubs instead of hiding them in the back of the closet. Of the 13 pike we released, 5 of them were 30" or bigger with the biggest being a 35" 12 pounder and a 34" 9 1/2 pounder. I did my best to practice the "Not so vetical" hold while taking the photos. All fish swam away strongly to fight another day.
