My wife, son, and I fished the Reservoir from May 18th thru the 22nd. The fishing was excellent although, as you have read from other reports, the lake was low. Both the lake and the Reservoir levels have been subjected to an extensive amount of drainage due to irrigation and various other projects. While we were there, it was cold and rainy. The lake level rose quite a bit during our stay and should continue to rise during the next month or so.

We fished flies exclusively - mostly green or rainbow careys, and green carey buggers. The fish ran in general around 10 to 12 inches with a few larger ones. My son and I also fished the upper lake in float tubes using the same flies and also did well there. We released most fish we caught. Wish a few more people would do that (or at least quit once they have caught their limits).

My son and I also went up to Blue lake one morning and caught a few fish in the 14 inch range. The fishing was not fast and furious. Blue is a quality lake - catch and release with barbless hooks. Both Blue and Fish lake were full as they are not subject to the drainage pressures that can impact Conconully.

We stayed at Liars Cove Resort again as we do every year. We had an enjoyable trip, although next year I will try to order some warm weather and sunshine.
