Too much wind last weekend kept me on the sidelines but I made it back out to Cda Lake this Sunday with the Packernut for some more pike fishing.The day started with a couple of follows and bites but no hookups. We didn't land our first pike until about 2 hours in when the Packernut broke in his new rod with a nice 27 1/2"er. After trying a few more locations we finally found the fish in some of the new water I explored last trip out. We finished the day with 12 pike between the two of us. We got 9 fish at or over 30" including Mikes personal best, a real nice 33"er and I was lucky enough to equal my personal best pike that I landed on my last trip out with a 45 1/2" X 20" girth beauty. Most fish were in and around weeds in about 10 feet of water and took a liking to the bright colored spinnerbaits. Water temps were low 60's all day and the rain got us a little soggy there for about 2 hours or so. I think it might even have qualified as a down pour there for a bit. We had a great day but it certainly took some hunting to find them. Once we got them located it was great action on some nice quality fish.
