Took a party of 6 out fishing today at 7:30am after the mad rush to get the first bite. This was ladies day. We made it comfortable and had some outstanding Sockeye action on Lake Wenatchee. I am not going to go over the details of how we caught these fish. That is in my last report. I am going late on purpose to see how many fish we can hook and land in 4 hours. We are setting a (8) Sockeye per hour pace and that is extremely hot fishing on any boat. The funny thing is that 98% of the boats are playing follow the leader at the head of the lake. I am all by myself dead in the middle of Lake Wenatchee minding my own business catching way more than the 3 fish per boat average. It took us until 11am today to wrap up our 24 fish limit. We lost the fish for about 30 minutes and I put a test rod down to 95 feet. Boom! Half the fish today came after 9:30am and at 95 feet in 238 feet of water.
This is the time to book your Sockeye family trip before my schedule is completely full. I am running more than (1) trip per day and have no problem catching these fish at any time of the day. The trick is to find where they are headed and stay with them throughout the day...
