Hot, hot, hot. The walleye bite is simply on fire on Banks Lake! Even better, the fish are getting bigger by the day.

We got well over 50 fish today and kept only walleye that were at least 16 inches in length and ended up getting 3 limits of walleye that were 16-22 inches.

If you want to learn how to pull crankbaits for walleye now is the time. The vast majority of walleye anglers troll bottom bouncers and spinner rigs, but the crankbait often is as good or even better of an option for catching quality and quantity walleye.

With crankbaits you are able to cover up to three times the amount of water, locate schools of fish, and get those really aggressive fish. Plus the walleye flat out crush a crankbait when they hit. No slow finesse fishing with cranks. The bites are hard and aggressive.

This bite will continue through August. I had some phenomenal days in August last year on Banks.

Give me call to learn Banks Lake and the techniques of pulling crankbaits to catch these tasty walleye.

And don't forget 4" swim baits on jig heads. We probably caught 70+ on Thursday using those small swim baits, color did not seem to matter. Last weekend a little french fry bait on a drop shot rig was the hot lure. I guess it does not seem to matter what you put down there, just stay in the 12-15' range adjacent to weeds.
