Fished Lk Washington on Tuesday. What a difference a couple weeks makes. Couldn't do any wrong couple weeks ago, couldn't do anything right on Tuesday. She's a fickle mistress alright.

On the lake about 6:30. Started at Hunts Pt and trolled down thru Moss Bay, made a quick run past 520 bridge and then down thru Wolf Bay past Magnuson Pk. Nada nada nada. Hotter than blazes out there.

Thru everything in the tackle box at them, different depths, different speeds. Skunked like a dog, unless you count a pike minnow about 12 inches.

Top water temp was like a bath almost, 78-79 degrees, pretty warm.

The one thing I did notice was tons of dead baitfish in Moss Bay area. Not sure what that means but the seagulls were piggin out!! So fat they could barely fly.

Anybody know why all the dead baitfish? Hundreds of them.

My guess that all the dead floating fish are, I believe to be, are long fin smelt. In past years when I fished the lake and we had very hot weather over several days the first species I would see under stress due to temperature and the low DO ( dissolved oxygen), would be the smelt. They comprise a huge biomass in the lake.

I ditto your report rmrauscher for Friday, Fished Lake WA all day Friday 7/10. Had a buddy on board so we trolled 2 rods from Coulon past Mercer, up to the I-90 bridge, back down past Seward park and to the Cedar river. A couple of drivebys but nothing took (except a perch we probably drug along for 15 mins). We marked tons of fish (mostly hanging between 22 ft and 75 ft, and lots of bait. Like you we threw everything in the book at them and circled back thru them numerous times changing up gear. They were not interested at all. Oh well, that's fishing!
